Why the GOP let the Democrats steal the election
Radical left wing historian Will Durant once pointed out
that democratic elections simply provide cover for a power struggled between the
politically elite, giving legitimacy to a process that has nothing to do with
Democracy.
In other words, there is no such thing as an honest
election. The wider the margin of victory the more legitimate the election
appears.
Elections, no matter how dishonest, tend to be better than
the alternative means of securing power, violent revolution or insurrection.
Elections lulled the general public into believing everyday
people choose their leaders, when in fact, the change of power is predetermined
and the real decisions are made by a power elite, who often trade off leadership
between the prevailing political parties, each hiding their lust for power
behind ideologies nobody but the most gullible actually believe.
Once in a great while a candidate rises to power whose
political base is made up of real people. Such characters are populist and threaten
to expose the behind-the-scenes game the two parties play.
Nothing is more of a threat to the power elite than a man or
woman who owes no allegiance to one of these phony parties.
This is why both parties’ team up to destroy him.
After more than a century honoring an unspoken agree to take
turns in control, the last thing the power elite needs is someone who appears
to have won an election legitimately.
After the Democrats managed to destroy Richard Nixon in the
early 1970s, there was a brief period of dishevel as Reagan took over the GOP
and took advantage of turmoil in the Democratic Party to narrowly beat
incumbent Carter in 1980, after which the change of power followed the predictable
pattern, Clinton beating the first George Bush with the help of a spoiler (the
way Democrats had hoped to have Humphry beat Nixon in 1968 by having George
Wallace – a Democrat – run).
Democrats hoped to extend their control over the country by
Having Gore beat the second George Bush – who won with the help of a Reagan
appointed U.S. Supreme Court (Something Trump later hoped to do in the 2020 election
but could not win the court over to his side.)
Obama was preordained to replace Bush with a deal to make
Hillary president after him, the first woman replacing the first black, with
Hillary most likely being allowed to serve for only one term.
Then came Trump who used a populist platform to break up the
game.
Even the GOP tried to stop him, reluctantly accepting him
when he won the nomination, assuming he could not bear Hillary anyway as the GOP
buckled down to find a candidate go later opposed Hillary the Democrats would
tolerate.
No one was more shocked by Trump’s victory than the GOP or
more threatened when they learn he actually intended to break up the political
love fest between the two parties.
The GOP could not overtly work against the standard bearer
of their party so appears to have turned a blind eye to moves Democrats made, such
as the constant use of media to discredit him. The GOP could not stop Democratic
states from using COVID to crash the national economy – which if left intact almost
guaranteed a Trump reelection. The GOP also seemed to turn a blind eye to the
fact that some prominent Democrats such as Hillary and Pelosi had invested in a
software company used to count the votes in critical states for the 2020
election. Most likely, the GOP did not know about Hillary spying on Trump while
he was president or the fake materials the Democrats used to falsely accuse
Trump in the Russia conclusion fiasco – which is they the attempt to impeach
him twice failed. It was just too blatant a power grab even the GOP couldn’t
tolerate.
Yet aside from Trump loyalists, few in the GOP raised al
stink when Democrats appeared to have stolen the election with some prominent
mainstream Republicans – such as Pence – standing on the sidelines to let
Democrats crucify Trump to allow everybody to get back to the power sharing
game.
Then came the Jan 6 protest that threatened to expose the
whole dishonest relationship.
Desperate people in both parties needed to discredit the
protest. And set up a sham Jan 6 Committee to investigate and prosecute Trump
and his followers. But the committee only included GOP who openly hated Trump.
The committee was designed from the start to damage Trump
enough to prevent him from every again becoming president.
